
Our country has seen a growing tribe of women entrepreneurs in recent times, and Indian women are creating their mark globally with their achievements and strong career paths. Recently, Forbes Asia revealed its annual list of Asia’s Power Businesswomen with twenty women from the Asia-Pacific region.
Ghazal Alagh, Namita Thapar and Soma Mandal are the three Indian businesswomen named in the 2022 Forbes list of powerful entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region.

Businesswomen in India 2022 Asia power list
This annual list of powerful businesswomen who have left a mark on the business world aims to honor these entrepreneurs who have worked tirelessly in their respective industries and managed their companies as powerful leaders.
In honor of these trailblazers, the list names 20 women from the Asia-Pacific region, including three Indian women. Ghazal Alagh, Namita Thapar and Soma Mandal are the three entrepreneurs honored by Forbes. Apart from India, the 2022 list has three women each from Indonesia, Japan, and Australia as well. The list includes two women each from Singapore, South Korea and Thailand, and one woman each from China and Taiwan. The women are selected based on their achievements while running their businesses along with demonstrating effective leadership over the course of their careers.
Indian women are featured
34-year-old Ghazal Alagh is the co-founder of Honasa Consumer, a company that owns care brands such as Ayuga, Aqualogica, The Derma Co and Mamaearth.
Soma Mondal also features in the list. Mondal’s list of achievements is long and inspiring. She is the first woman to head the state-run Steel Authority of India Ltd. The organization’s annual revenue has grown by fifty percent with profits tripling since Mondal took charge of the company last year becoming the company’s first female leader.
Emcure Pharma executive director Namita Thapar is the third entrepreneur to be honored in the list. Thapar is not only a powerful entrepreneur, but she is also an author and runs her YouTube channel titled Unconditon Yourself With Namita Thapar.
The twenty women mentioned in the list are considered to be looking at their leadership path in the face of diversity considering the challenges faced by all businesses in the post-pandemic world.
