The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lost another key colleague, the Mail on Sunday can reveal.

Mandana Diani, 40, resigned this weekend as chairman of Archwell, the couple’s media empire and charity.

A spokeswoman for Meghan and Harry said last night that the couple would “take full leadership of their company”.

The Iranian-born activist has been one of the Duke and Duchess’ most important advisers to her US media presence.

She was at Archeville, where she oversaw day-to-day operations for less than 18 months.

Her shock exit comes just days before a bombshell six-part documentary series about the couple’s acrimonious split from the royal family – produced by archival and streaming giant Netflix – was released online.

Ms Diani is the latest of at least 13 senior staff to leave the Duke and Duchess since 2018.

In a statement, Ashley Hansen, Meghan and Harry’s global press secretary, said last night that Ms Diani had been “an important part of Archival and we are grateful for her passion, commitment and leadership”.

She added: Ms. Dayani was brought in during parental leave to run the company and projects.

She continued to successfully shape her vision and future. Her transition was planned bilaterally, with the intention for the Duke and Duchess to now take full leadership of their company.

“There will be no replacement for this position, and Ms Diani fully supports the Duke and Duchess in their new leadership roles, and they remain friends.”

A self-described “entrepreneur, attorney, activist, executive producer, and investor,” Ms. Diani posted a photo on Instagram in October alongside Meghan and Ms. Henson.

As president of Archival, Ms. Diani oversaw the couple’s production and audio companies and their nonprofit foundation.

Ms. Diani changed her LinkedIn profile this weekend to indicate that her high-profile role at Archival had ended. Her page now reads: ‘President, Archville, full time June 2021 – December 2022, 1 yr 7 months.’

While she has returned to two other active roles, Ms. Diani has yet to list a new job title or position, suggesting she is not leaving Archeville to take on a new role.
