Jon Pardee is excited to become a father for the first time.
While speaking with Fox News Digital, Pardee revealed how excited he is to have a daughter with his wife Summer Duncan, joking that he’s not looking forward to seeing her on The Bachelor, but Relieved of the fact that it won’t happen for a long time. how many years
“You know what, I’m excited, I’m not really nervous. I’m not ready for high school, but it’s a long way,” Purdy said. “I’m happy! I’m not young yet, it’s time to have children.
“There was a time when we thought we wouldn’t be able to have children and then bam,” he continued. “We went to Key West to finish the record, say the vocals, came back with a baby, so thank you, Key West, Florida you’re awesome, can’t wait to come back.”

Purdy is also celebrating his two CMA Award nominations this year, as well as the opportunity to pay tribute to one of his idols in country music, Alan Jackson.
“I feel like those are always the goals,” Purdy said. “You’re nominated, or you’re not nominated, you still come, you see everybody nominated, and you’re like, ‘I want to be there one day.’ ” “I feel like that’s what these awards are for. They’re for progress, they’re for achievement. I feel like as an artist you always want to get it next year, I’ll get it next year. show and a lot of awards have that, and I feel like that’s always a goal, and you get to meet your heroes. It’s a fun time.”
At this year’s show, country music artist Alan Jackson receives the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, the most prestigious award in the country music industry. Jackson is someone Pardee has looked up to since he was a child, so it means a lot for him to participate in a tribute to him during the ceremony.
“He was always someone I looked up to as a kid who didn’t know anything about the music business or songwriting, I just loved his voice and his songs. Then you start playing in bands, and he’s still there. Just playing songs,” Purdy said. “Allan Jackson is one of the best songwriters in the business, and he writes it like it is. I always compare him to Merle Haggard. I feel like Allen and Merle are very similar in the way they write. “
In 2015, fresh off the heels of his breakthrough album California Sunrise, Pardee was invited to tour with Jackson, which he found to be validating, on some of his less successful records. It felt good to remember, because Jackson was now his fan.
“I went on tour with Alan Jackson in 2015, and it was right between the album and California Sunrise which wasn’t that great, but Alan took me on board and it was like, ‘Okay, Alan likes it. . I,” Pardee explained. “We’ve done a few things in the past, so it’ll be a nice reunion, and a nice send-off because I know he wants to retire early.”
This year’s show also honors legendary country singer Loretta Lynn, who died earlier this year at the age of 90. The show will open with a tribute to Lane sung by Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert.
Pardee recalled briefly meeting Lane a few years ago, saying he admired her for always sticking to her guns and not saying anything about her.

“I’ve always loved Loretta Lynn. She was brave, she stood up, she didn’t talk about people, she just did her own thing,” Pardee said. “I met her once. It was at my friend Kid Rock’s house, and I shook her hand. She might not remember it, but we’re all here in her spirit.”
In addition to Lane and Jackson, Pardee’s musical role models include Jerry Lee Lewis, who died at the end of October, shortly after being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
With all the accolades and performances, Purdy is confident that this year’s CMA Awards will be a good one, calling it “one hell of a show.” He was especially excited about Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning coming together to host the award show.

Purdy explained: “Luke is always fun. I just went to a charity event that we did, and we had a blast. He’s just a fun guy, and he’s always been good fun.” “He’s always made great records and what you see is what you get. Luke is funny, he’s fun, he likes to take care of people and the moment we see each other it’s hugs and laughs.”
