Lauren Boebert live: Republican asks for donations for results recount Colorado election against Adam Frisch

Frisch challenges Boebert in Colorado’s tight race

Lauren Boebert asked for donations to support a possible recount of the results in her election race in Colorado against Democrat Adam Frisch.

The Republican’s plea for financial support comes Friday afternoon after she said she is confident she will retain her House seat as the unexpected upset race remains too close to call.

When asked by reporters if she expects to win the race on Thursday, the Republican incumbent replied: “I expect to win of course. It will be great.”

Ms Boebert now has a 1,122 vote lead in a very close race for the US House seat in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.

After trailing for much of the race, Donald Trump’s allies clawed their way back into the lead on Thursday, taking 50.2 percent of the vote to Mr. Frisch’s 49.8 percent, with a reported 99 percent of the votes.

The race could be automatically recounted if the party does not win by a margin of more than 0.5 percent.

Colorado voters decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms

Colorado voters have passed a ballot initiative to decriminalize psychedelic mushrooms for people 21 and older and to create state-controlled “medical centers” where patients can experience the drug under supervision.

Colorado is the second state, after Oregon, to vote to establish a control system for substances such as psilocybin and psilocin, the hallucinogens found in some mushrooms. The initiative, which will come into effect in 2024, will also allow an advisory board to add other plant-based psychedelic drugs to the program in 2026.

Supporters have argued that the state’s current approach to mental health has failed and that naturally occurring psychedelics, which have been used for centuries, can treat depression, PTSD, anxiety, addiction and other conditions. They also said that imprisoning people for the non-violent offense of naturally occurring substance use costs taxpayers money.

Critics have warned that the substances are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration as medicine. They also argued that allowing “medical centers” to operate, and allowing private personal use of the drugs, would endanger public safety and send the wrong message to both children and adults that the substances are healthy.

The move comes a decade after Colorado voted to legalize recreational marijuana after initially allowing it to be used for medical purposes, spawning a multi-billion dollar industry with hundreds of dispensaries. across the state.

Boebert asks for recount donations

Lauren Boebert appears to have accepted the possibility of a recount in her race against Adam Frisch as she asked supporters to donate to help one.

“I told you all year, the Left would do everything they could to get rid of me,” the firebrand Republican wrote in a tweet.

“With every final vote in this race, I need you to help us make sure we have the resources to finish what we started!”

The plea for donations came as she had just a 0.4 per cent lead over Mr Frisch at 1pm on Friday.

If the race drops to 0.5 percent, a recount will occur automatically.

In response to criticism from public health campaigner Alexandra Hunt, Mr Bardella wrote: “I appreciate your feedback and when someone from your side is determined – it’s worth thinking about and thinking about. I will be more thoughtful about my words in the future. It is NEVER my intention to shame women. I’m sorry. Period.”

He added: “There is nothing wrong with consensual interactions on platforms like OnlyFans. Anyone who suggests otherwise as an attempt to shame or judge really needs to examine their own attitudes towards women and their independence.”
