Alex Murdaugh’s murder trial ended its second day on Tuesday when the initial jury pool of about 600 people was narrowed to 120.

The situation is evolving rapidly. And McCulloch says that because of the nature of this case, he expects Judge Cliffton Newman to keep things moving quickly.

“We’ve seen a lot of jurors apologize because of their concerns,” McCulloch said. “I think one person said PTSD. And you know that’s a very real thing. When you’re going through a trial of this tragedy with photos that will inevitably be offered, it’s devastating.”

McCulloch says prosecutors will target jurors who feel anger or sympathy about the murders.

He says the defense will be looking for jurors who are thoughtful, attentive and able to share their emotions.
