Migos: Takeoff’s last Instagram story before the fatal shooting
Takeoff, a member of the rap trio Migos, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).
The rapper – full name Krishnak Khairi Bal – was 28 years old.
Police officers were called to the shooting at 2:34 a.m. local time (7.34 a.m. GMT) outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of about 40 people was taking place. and
Takeoff and his Migos bandmate Quavo were both in attendance. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was not injured in the altercation. The third member of Migos, Offset, was not present.
An argument ensued, reportedly after a dice game, and shots were fired. He was killed on the spot in the attack.
His death was mourned by industry figures and fans alike, with tributes pouring in for the late rapper on social media.
Celebrities including James Corden, Drake, SZA, Outkast, and Khloe Kardashian have shared posts commemorating the rapper.
So far, no suspects have been arrested and Houston Police Chief Troy Finner asked witnesses to “come forward” with information about the shooting.
Police as well as the rapper’s fans have asked others to take down graphic videos of the incident that have been circulating online.
Metro Boomin pays tribute to Takeoff
Metro Boomin, who produced Migos’ hit song “Bad and Buggy,” took to Twitter to mourn Takeoff’s death.
“I can’t even really put into words how bright and warm a true soul she was,” wrote his heartfelt tribute.

The Harris County Medical Examiner confirmed his cause of death as “gunshot wounds” and ruled his death a “homicide.”

A new mural has been painted in Atlanta in honor of Takeoff
An underpass in Atlanta, Georgia is now home to a takeoff wall.
Takeoff was a native of Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta, with fellow Migos star Offset.
The mural is located under the John Lewis Freedom Parkway Bridge near Fourth Ward Park.

The Los Angeles Lakers basketball team is one of the latest to honor the takeoff.
In preparation for last night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, it was all Migos music for the Lakers warming up in honor of Takeoff tonight,” Lakers reporter Mike Trudell tweeted.
